EMBROIDERED AKHA HILL TRIBE BAG, THAILAND
I have a large amount of textiles that I bought over the last 35 years so I have decided to sell a lot of them . This is a very finely embroidered bag, original as the Akha themselves use, with intricate cross stitching, from the Akha Hill Tribe of Burma or Thailand.. The rows of geometric embroidery show stylized features of the surrounding landscape. Cotton ..   13" x 8" and the strap is 32" long, probably it should be washed carefully.. I bought a bunch of these from an Akha lady in 1982, she had brought them from Burma, & she had amazing black teeth from chewing betel nut..
