Antique Cloth Doll Body Bisque Arms 16" Lewis Sorensen For Restore Parts

Rare find: Antique/vintage Lewis Sorensen cloth w/bisque arms doll body, approx. 16" tall (no head)
Lewis Sorensen dolls are harder to come by; he was known as a Master Dollmaker, and his dolls were so coveted that he was never able to keep up with demand and often had to turn down stores and contracts
This body wears a gorgeous brown velveteen dress, with cotton cut-work underpinnings, and has silk boots; both dress and boots feature soutache trim; the dress, though damaged, is exquisite; it is accented with ribbon bows and there's a thin, dangling beaded thread that may have been a necklace?
There's a tag on the slip that reads:  This is a "Portrait Doll" an original creation by Lewis Sorensen
A charmingly tattered doll; the front bodice of dress has melted away, and the bosom stuffing is falling out; the underclothes look good for the age and the dress fabric is still strong--it's the front silk that is shattered (see photos); one thumb has a chipped tip, otherwise the hands look good for the age and are nicely detailed; the silk boots show age wear also but are basically intact; the clothing is sewn on, so I can't inspect the body or dress further, but the body feels firmly stuffed through the clothing; the velveteen color is still fairly deep
Once restored, this could be a beautiful doll, or else harvested for the clothing and parts
Great, htf body & dress for antique dolls repair & making, including French fashion and German china or papier-mache head dolls; also good just as it is, for French brocante/JDL displays
