    Akha or Ekaw "live for inheriting" peoples have their origin in Yunnan China. Currently, most of them still settled at there, and they gradually migrated southwardly for centuries. Those in Thailand migrated from Myanmar. The first Akha village in Thailand is at Baan Hin Taek, where currently is located in the area of Doi Mae Salong. Akha language is in the Yi(Loloish) branch of ther Tibeto[Burman family "Chue Ko".
    Clothes and ornaments : The Akha people use tightly woven cotton dyed in dark blue and black color. THey have 3 kinds of dress as follows ; "Ulo Akha"- They are the one living in Thailand initially. "Lomi Akha": They have just migrated to Thailand lately. "Pamee Akha": This is according to the village's name in Myanmar border nearby Mae Sai. Dresses : for women, they wear cap, short-body shirt, short skirt, girdle, and stocking. For men, they wear long-sleeve T-shirt and fisherman pants.
