Vintage Mid Century Akha Hill Tribe Ethnographic Folk Art Woman's headdress, likely from Burma (Myanmar) but also possibly from Laos or Thailand. Made from what appears to be hand woven black fabric, hand wrought mixed metals, glass beads, and square Union of Burma Kyat coins dating from between 1949 and 1965. Unmarked, unsigned, no labels or tags. Uncertain of artisan, provenance. Likely made in the 1950s to 60s. In VG+ vintage condition, a little dirty, metal somewhat discolored or tarnished, but doesn't appear to be missing any pieces. Measures approximately 24 inches long laid flat, and 9 to 10 inches wide. Weighs approximately 2 lbs. Will weigh between 3 and 4 lbs packaged.
